Can someone help me with this?

What CPT code would I use if the PEG tube site was cleaned with normal saline and the G-tube was removed by using a strong pull and noted that the internal bumper of the PEG tube was intact when examined after removal?

Would 43760 be appropriate?

Thanks in advance!!!

I would not report CPT 43760 unless the provider is removing and then replacing (aka changing out) the gastrostomy tube. If the tube is being removed, there is no surgical code for this. You may report a low level E&M code for removal of a g-tube if you have enough documentation to do so.

I hope that helps.
