A patient is diagnosed with "complex ovarian cysts", the OB-GYN is assigning a diagnosis of 236.2 (neoplasm of uncertain behavior of ovary), the ICD9 book directs me to 620.2. Does anyone have a good web site or direction for me to refer to for designation of cyst vs neoplasm that I can check out & back up the 620.2 selection vs the 236.2? The physician has been notified of the code selection but chooses to designate as a neoplasm.

I agree with you. Unless the Dr. knows something more that they aren't letting you know. I too would use 620.2 unless/until there is a path report.
