I am hoping someone can give me some suggestions. My ER docs are running Alcohol screenings for intoxication using the new Drug Test, Any Number, Chemistry code G0479. I am getting this denied over and over. Most of the patients are coming in with non-intoxication issues but have been drinking so the dx I am being given is
F10.129 (alcohol abuse with intoxication, unspecified). Looking at the LCD for G0479 there are not even any alcohol related codes. Any suggestions from anyone????
