my ortho doc did a hip replacement (27130) and a large gluteal medius minimus tendon rupture repair. His dicationt for the rupture was:"the patient had a large chronic tendon tear that was repaired with #5 ethibond interrupted sutures through drill holes in the greater trochanter."
What CPT code would you assign for the repair of the tendon? My first thought was 27097 but now I believe this may be part of the same surgery. He fixed the repair through the same incision site as the hip replacement. :confused:
