I have not been actively coding for about three years. Is there any advice for refresher courses? I have 3 certifications, CPC, CEMC and CASCC. I would like
to obtain a remote position moving forward. Help...

Hi Denise,

I would suggest first enrolling in any courses for your specialties of E&M and/or ASC coding (if you are looking to find a position in those areas). That should help you get current as well as provide some CEUs!

I mention E&M first as there have been a lot of changes in the E&M codes in the past couple years and there definitely seems to be a need for coding help in this area. Also, your CEMC and CASCC certifications should help you stand out in the crowd. I have taken several good E&M courses (free and purchased) with AAPC and found some helpful resources in the CPT book and on the CMS site as well. Hope that helps!
