I have a patient who received a tissue expander delayed insertion w/ subsequent expansion (19370). 3 months later, the patient developed a complication. During this procedure the expander was removed, the pocket was debrided, a new expander was placed, 2 drains were placed and then closed.

How should I code this? 19370 again? Subsequent expansion was continued.

The first procedure sounds like you should have billed 19357 NOT 19370.
And for the 3 months later procedure I would bill 11971 and 19357 again.
