Need help with this Final Diagnosis please: Sepsis, Perforated abdominal viscus-suspicion duodenal ulcer versus diverticular disease.

Patient is an Observation patient.

I'm confused on this one. I coded it as 038.9, 995.91 and somehow I came up with 799.89 Ill-defined condition.

However, not sure if I should code as 038.9, 995.91, 531.50.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

I agree with the 038.9 and the 995.91, however beyond that you cannot code the suspicion of the ulcer nor the diverticular disease for an Observatin pt if you are coding facility and not ever if you are coding physician. For the abdominal viscus perforation, I get 799.89 also.
