Okay so I know nothing can really prepare me for real world coding, but what are some thing you wish you knew more about before starting a coding job?? How to navigate the CMS website? NCCI edits? Best extra software to capture the edits that the place of employment does not offer? Payer websites about their rules? Any advice would be helpful!

I have a in person interview for a coding job and seems to be a great opportunity especially since it is the one of the biggest health care systems locally. I know nothing is 100% until they say the words “we would like you to work for us”, but even if I was not offered the job I would still like to research and read up on these things while I have time this summer. 😊

Also, the job is facility coding for outpatient (ED, ancillary). So, even for those who work with this type of coding, any information you would of liked to know about it before you began?

Thanks everyone in advance!!
