Hereditary hemochromatosis with compound heterozygous H63D and C282Y mutation positive..
I am looking at dx E83.118 as I have a note that previously said to use because C282Y Homozygous most people with genetic haemochromatosis have 2 copies of a variant in the HFE gene known as C282Y. They have 2 copies because they inherit 1 copy from each parent. This is knows as C282Y homozygous, other parent known as compound heterozygous (C282y/H63D). Or should I be using the E83.110. I can't find a definite source to back up the E83.118.
Any help is appreciated.
