I'm hoping someone can help me out with this. I work in an OB office and when patient's come in for the initial OB visit we run labs on them and one of them is Hemoglobin glycated CPT code 83036. We've been having trouble with insurance carriers [mainly Excellus BCBS] denying the code stating diagnosis inconsistent with procedure. We've reviewed the insurance carrier policies and have spoken with our provider rep and they are still denying. Does any one else have this issue or have any guidance on getting reimbursement from carriers on this code or an updated icd-10 code list you reference for payable codes? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!
