Have a patient who came into office states husband left her for another woman. Wants all the tests for Hep A, B, C. Sent to insurance company. They are rejecting 87340 and 86803. I am using V73.89 for both dx. The insurance company sent them back unpaid their reason is the reported dx code are inconsistant with the services rendered and are not eligible for reimbursment. We are checking to see if she could have contracted any diseases from her husband's trist. What can I do to correct this claim so it can be paid.
Screening for viral disease was my first thought.

I have Ingenix Lab Services and for 86803-V73.89 is a valid code. But for 87340 it is not.
Any ideas. Lab is not my stron suit.

Thanks

Chris
