Is anyone else having issues to get the hepatitis panel paid by Tricare? We are using Z01.89 and they do not want to pay it. I would appreciative anyone's help. Thank you!

I have the same question, and we've debated how to address Hepatitis B screenings within our facility. The advise from manufacturers of several Rheumatology medications (and the CDC) recommend the patient doing a screening lab for Hepatitis B prior to starting the med, however it is not being covered. Alternatives are to either have every patient sign an ABN when getting the lab drawn (not a great solution) or not doing the screening (not great patient care). It's not usually an expensive test (maybe 15-30$) however multiplied by thousands each year gets expensive for the facility. Is anyone getting these labs covered? And if so, with which CPT and ICD10? Help appreciated.
