Wiki High deduct plan patient wants cash pay discount

Ambulatory surgery center patient with insurance we are contracted with has high deductible and wants cash pay discount (which we give to our Amish patients). Does anyone have a sample waiver for patient to sign that indicates we WILL NOT file claim with insurance since he/she opted for cash pay discount? Or are we obligated to file a claim? Anyone have documentation to support this either way??? THANKS.

You should check your contract, you may have a contract obligation on this.

If you're contracted they are already getting a discount even with a high deductible plan. They are only paying what the insurance company would have paid IF their deductible was already met not your full charge. But if you still want to give them a further discount, as Debra said you need to check your contract.
