Is anyone out there doing high risk screening colons on S/P transplant patients? The transplant center recommended screening colon every 5 yrs due to being immunocompromised. My provider stated he did some checking and there are some findings that suggest the risk of colon cancer may be higher if you are immunocompromised. Our patient has Medicare and isn't eligible for a screening colon until 2018. Pt has no problems otherwise, and no personal or family hx of polyps or colon cancer. I checked our LCD (WPS), and can't find anything that I could use.
Thoughts?
