I have a patient who has a history of enlarged prostate with obstruction (2012) and has recently begun having symptoms again. I've got some radiology charges & have coded for the current symptoms but would like to include a history of Dx. I'm not finding anything in our ICD9 book. Suggestions?

In my opinion I don't think that including a history of code is necessary, and there is not a code specific to history for enlarged prostate. I would use v13.29 - pers. hx of other genital and obsteric diseases, or possibly v13.09 pers. hx of other urinary system diseases. I would just code the for the active condition/signs/symptoms and let it be.
 
V13.09 was what I have been looking at, but this is not an area I have experience coding so I wanted to double check. I'll try without the Hx of code, then if it happens to be denied I'll try the V13.09. Thanks for your help!
