Wiki holding for path

just wondering what surgeries people are holding for path results. obviously cases that reflect malignancy, but what about things like a cholecystectomy or appendectomy? do you typically hold the charge for path on these type of cases or do you use the post-op dx provided by the md?

I wait for the results any time something is sent to Pathology.
