If a patient wears a 48 hr holter 1/9/15-1/11/15 and a 24 hr 1/11/15-1/12/15 How would you bill this as 93224 can only be billed once every 6 months. Thanks!

0295T is for a holter 48 hours to 21 days. We use this when a patient hooks up in the office, and 0298T when they hook up at the hospital.

Thank you. That's what I've been using, but I've been told I was incorrect since it wasn't continuous and there are actually 2 encounters.

Can monitoring times be combined to meet 0295T?

I have a similar question. Patient wore Zio patch for 40 hours on 8/7-8/8. Monitor was removed. Patient was hooked up again on 8/15 and wore it for an additional 16 hours. Do I combine the times for a total of 56 hours and bill 0295T or do I bill for a Holter (93224)?

I can't bill for both separately because they were read on the same day, and would therefore have the same service date since we are supposed to use the date of interpretation and report as the date of service for ambulatory monitoring services.
