Do patients ever receive home chemotherapy (S9330) AND outpatient facility chemotherapy on the same day? I'm auditing some claims and seeing a patient receive both on the same day and it seems very odd.

I would see this if a patient's receiving a particular drug regimen that involves continuous drug infusion at home. For instance they receive chemo at the office & get an injection of 5FU (Adrucil) then are hooked up at home by home health nursing to receive the rest of the 5FU over 48 hours. The home health nursing agency would bill for the nursing time, hookup, drugs etc under their tax ID # with a home place of service. The physician would bill for the injection and/or administration at the office. Hope this helps!
