Hi Can someone please interpret for me per diem charges. S9363 and S9326 repersent per diem charges for antispasmodic and pain medications. The implanted pumps deliver the medication intrathecally. The pumps are filled by a nurse every 30 days. The pumps require no daily maintenance by the provider or the patient. My question is: should they be billed 30 days= 30 units or 30 days = 1 unit?. There is no delivery of any service for 30 consecutive days and so I think it should just be 1 unit. If this coding is inappropriate, then what code(s) and number of units should be billed?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
