I am having a discussion within my company on how a home nurse visit should be billed in the worker's compensation world. I've been told that it is "industry standard" that ALL home nurse visits are billed at a 2 hour standard i.e. 1 visit = 2 hours even if the nurse's documentation shows significant less time. I'm not finding anything to confirm this standard in my research. Can anyone confirm this and point me in the direction of where I can verify this billing as industry standard? I'd also be happy to hear from people that can confirm this is NOT the industry standard for worker's comp as well.
