We are having some trouble getting lab draws on our homebound patients when they are NOT involved w/ a home health care agency. (this is for the state of Ohio)
All the research I have done states home health care agency if required by Medicare. I also noticed that some insurances offer a home health care coverage.

My questions would be how to bill for this service? Are we allowed to do this types of services? How to get supplies for both the lab draw and the Lasix medication and IV equipment?

La b draws

I work for a HHA

In short, No, you can't bill for home health services, unless you are a home health agency.

If they are homebound, why wouldn't you just write the order for home health for lab draws?
