Does anyone know how we should code a suspected cancer for Hospice? If a patient is being admitted to hospice with a suspected cancer with abnormal findings on a scan and the patient does not want to pursue additional testing, how should that be coded? The new code book has a !Q icon next to all abnormal findings codes. It appears to me they are saying these are not acceptable as primary diagnosis codes for hospice, is that correct?
diagnosis codes, diagnosis coding
