My provider admits patient in the hospital every so often. How do I bill 99222 and 99223 being that her work location facility is POS 11. This is new to us since we added a endocrinologist to our practice and the claim is being rejected for POS.

Is your provider seeing the patient at the facility when they admit them, or is she seeing them in the office and sending them to the hospital to be admitted and the patient is then being seen by the hospitalist on call?

You provider practice is registered at POS 11 under relevant TAX ID. But IP hospital admission EM99222-99223 should be billed under POS 21 with the facility TAX ID and administrative paper work sent to IC prior to admission. Also, if the facility added an endocrinologist, provider's office management should contact insurances the facility is PAR with to enroll the provider under valid PAR ID either group or individual.
QUESTION: what is the claims denial CARC code? Is it 197? I hope it was helpful
