We currently have a hospital intern working with one of our practice doctors. This intern assists with office visit exams, as well as hospital consults. When the intern performs a "hospital consult' for us, under the supervision of our practice physician, should any modifiers be placed on the hospital consult/follow-up charges? I am billing a 99255 to commercial insurance plans and 99223 to medicare B and MAC's.
