Our radiology dept. removed a tunnelled catheter in which there is not cpt code that can be added - unless we use the miscellaneous - 32999 - MCR allows 352.38.

Can we build E/M charges for rad to use in these instances or should we bill the miscellanous codes associated with the type tube being pulled?

Thank you.

Hospital outpatient radiology department billing for catheter removal

Well this is not a central, but coming out of the chest cavity. Theres no code for this, unless we bill 32999, which I don't think is right. We were thinking about building an E&M code for stuff like this. For instance, we do dressing changes in this department. How would we bill that. Interesting.
