Does anyone know how we can get paid for the hospital visit (usually a 99232) when the patient is released and follows up in our office to begin receiving IV infusion treatment on the same day. Patients regularly follow up the same day they are released from hospital, and we are getting denied by medicare for the hospital visit due to bundling to the infusion treatment. Is there a modifier that we can use? In other words, we would have two claims for same DOS...one for office infusion treatment and one for the hospital follow up visit. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
