The provider documents "S/P myringotomy tubes", and in PE documents "myringotomy tubes B/L". How would you code for the presence of the myringotomy tubes in this 5 year old? Is is approprite to report V44.8 - other artificial opening staus?

There is no code for the myringotomy status. And no you would not use other artificial opening status. This is just a well child status so go with a V20.x.
