MACRA or quality payment program is going to impacting the healthcare industry. Can you help with in finding if it is going to help the small units?

For 2017 if you bill Medicare more than 30,000 in part B allowed charges and provide care for more than 100 Medicare patients a year then you should participate to avoid a penalty. If you are smaller than that, then you don't have to do anything and won't be impacted in any way (for now)

You have until October 2nd 2017 to submit data for this year. They have made it pretty easy to participate in year one. If you submit just one measure and one improvement activity you will avoid a negative adjustment. If you submit 90 days of data you MAY earn a bonus or positive adjustment.

Lashel, any tips for last quarter submission i.e. how does one get the ball rolling to having a small group practice enrolled?

Peace

QPP support line

The CMS has established the QPP support line at 866 288 8292 and they are helpful in guiding you to how you want to report.

To avoid negative payment of 4% in 2019, we just need to report one measure for one patient with the claims and wait for Remittance Code of N620 which means your measure is accepted.

We are doing the 90 days and probably will report through a registry.

There is one for percentage of patients who underwent a non-emergency surgery who had their personalized risks of postoperative complications assessed by their surgical team prior to surgery using a clinical data based patient specific risk calculator and who received personal discussion of the risks with the surgeon. It is a process measure, the title of the measure is patient centered surgical risk assessment and communication. Submission method is through a registry. The ID number is 358
