Doctor wants to do injection to patient's shoulders, would it be wise to bill for both in one visit or separately? Would insurance pay for both in one visit?
Medicare has an MUE value for J3301 of 16 units per date of service, so in other words they will only reimburse up to 160 mg of this drug on a given date. Other payers may have different policies for this though.
But as far as the injection procedure itself, I don't know of any reason that a payer would not allow both joints to be injected at the same visit.
