Hi,

On a day with no interruptions, no queries and perfect documentation. How many accounts can you code PROPERLY and submit? (Yes, I know this scenario is unrealistic. But, please play along.)

Years of experience (range)
Do you have to add y our own modifiers?

It depends on what coding inpatient vs outpatient AND the provider s documentation skills. I have seen really great provider s documentation =coded 100 outpt. medicine records in 7 hour period. Medical specialty depends on accurate and efficient skillful medical coder but providers data/notes counts too. Yes must add modifiers too. My experience is over 10 years working in coding and billing HC services. Add to this ongoing training meetings newsletters, videos...professional medical coders must be life long learners.
