V45.89 (post-procedure status)? It's kind of vague.

V45.89 is not allowed as a first-listed code. What was the reason for the visit? If was for aftercare, such as dressing changes suture removal etc then you will use aftercare codes, V58.4x followed byt the code for the type of aftercare rendered, ex V58.32 for suture removal, if the visit is for followup, ie just a surveillance of the patient then use a code from the V67 category.

This visit is for a P.T service. How would you code this now.

If the visit is for Rehab, a code from the V57 code category is required to be first listed, this is detailed in the 2008 guidelines for coding and reporting. And the V57 codes are allowed first listed only, as a secondary dx we need to put why the patient requires rehab, some residual effect that documented perhaps, such as pain or stffness.
