How do we send CMS supporting documentation when we use Modifiers?
It is my understanding that CMS requires supporting docs when we use Modifiers in Coding. Please help!:)
 
I am not sure where you are in the country or who your MAC is but in North Carolina we recently switched to Plametto GBA as our MAC. They allow you to fax records with your first submission so we do not have to wait for a denial to send supporting documentation.
You may want to check the website of your MAC to see if they allow you to do the same. For Palmetto GBA the instructions are easy to follow and right on the form you use as the cover sheet to fax the documentation.
