patient has leukopenia. In the HPI patient has sinus infection with associated symptoms. We are only submitting leukopenia dx code for clim. Can I capture elements from sinus infection (location, duration, etc.) as it's in HPI section but final assessment & chief complaint is leukopenia? Not sure.
 
Since you cc is leukopenia, I'd use the sinus infx as the associated signs/symptoms--- because the sinus infx is not the location and/or duration of the Chief complaint.
