Wiki HPV screening

Hello, I am hoping for some clarification regarding the Z01.419 diagnosis. I am getting denial for HPV screening without Z01.419 attached to the screening, but most of these are self swab screenings. Can we add the Z01.419 with out actually doing a pelvic exam? Any information would be helpful. Thank you.

There is a better diagnosis than Z01.419. If a screening for HPV only, there is a separate ICD10 for that. https://www.icd10data.com/ICD10CM/Codes/Z00-Z99/Z00-Z13/Z11-

We are billing the HPV self swab screening only with DX Z11.51, but we keep getting denials if DX Z01.419/Z01.411 is not attached as the secondary DX. My question is, can we use DX Z01.419 when there is not a documented pelvic exam since these are self swab samples.
