Does anyone have any knowledge of HRT (hormone replacement therapy) services and pregnancy tests being a requirement prior to starting HRT for transgender patients or if you could point me in the right direction of locating this information? I did try looking this up on Google and didn't have any luck. I work in a primary care office that deals with a lot of HRT services for transgender clients. This is something new that my provider is testing for and adding to the claim prior to starting this therapy. The DX code being used is F64.0 but that is not a covered DX for 81025. The test is also performed in-house. If anyone has any information that would help, I would greatly appreciate it.
