The physician is an M.D. He has decided to prescribe HGH (Human Growth Hormone) to his patients. Take commercial insurances and Medicare Part B, Medicare advantage plans. Patient is coming in with chronic diagnosis and then the physician is prescribing HGH. He wants the visit to be billed to the insurance. Just wanted some feedback on this because I do not feel the visit should be billed to the insurance if he is just prescribing a non-covered hormone medication for a non-covered diagnosis. HGH is only covered for certain diagnosis codes which our patients do not have these diagnosis.
I Would appreciate any comments!!!!!
