I have ED chart that raise coding question. I did research and I cannot fined answer. Scenario: 2 hydrations was given to a patient on the same day. One started at 8 and ended at 9, the second one was given at 8:22 and ended at 9:22. So pretty much hydrations were given at the same time. How would you code this. 96361 with 2 units or 1. I am saying 96361 is because patient also had IVP, so hydration will be coded with 96361.

It would be one unit unless the documentation shows that the two infusions were at separate sites/separate lines. Concurrent infusions of the same substance through the same line are not separately reportable.
