Does anyone know if there is a specific cpt code for "Hydro Debridement for maxillary sinus?
I show 31237, 31002 & 31002 but this is older information.
DX code: J32.4

i believe there is a certain level of "cleaning out the sinus" during sinus surgery, we dont have much luck getting this pd, i will fight this if the doctor uses medication like gentamicin as this is also treatment.
from the academy --
The lavage is a lower-valued procedure performed at the same operative session on the same structure (maxillary sinus) and, therefore, would be included in the primary procedure code

  • 31000 represents a separate procedure in which the nose is anesthetized, decongested and a needle or cannula inserted into the antrum for irrigation. It is not intended for flushing through a patent or newly created surgical opening into the antrum
31237 not applicable
