A procedure was performed in which originally it was for a SCS implant. However, the provider removed the PNS to make room for that SCS implant, even used a previous PNS IPG pocket for the new implant pulse generator. We used CPT code 64595 and 64585 to reflect this part of the procedure. What would be an appropriate ICD-10 for these CPT codes? Normally when we do an explant it is due to a mechanical breakdown, so we use T85.111A, but I am not certain that this is an appropriate code for this situation.

Thank you :)

Bumping this question by adding another question:

So when trying to link T85.111A with 64595 and 64585, 64585 links it as an ICD-10 that is medically necessary, but not for 64595. The CodeCorrect is listing LCA A55531 - Billing and Coding: Peripheral Nerve Stimulation and the other ICD-10 codes, G89.4 and M96.1, are not considered medically necessary per the article. Not sure what to do, would like some pointers in to how to go about this. Can I just ignore the CodeCorrect, just submit it like this?
