Can anyone advise me of a code for a cardiologist performing an EKG on a patient that has been receiving chemotherapy and needs constant monitoring? I'm leaning toward Z08, Z79.899 and Cxx but Z08 is for completed treatment which is not necessarily the case. Any advice would be appreciated.

I would say that Z08 would be the correct code. As it does not state that the treatment timeframe. The patient could be completing a treatment round today and then have the EKG. Since there is no documentation of a time frame, I would submit the Z08 in this case.
Hope this helps
