I'm researching OB coding for IP. I see where you code O80 or O82 when the delivery is uncomplicated or without indication (along with Z37.0 for outcome of delivery). What I can't figure out is how is a delivery coded when the delivery is complicated? I'm looking in the "O" codes, but these go by the trimester and not delivered or not. Also, do I code a diagnosis code and a procedure code for OB patients that deliver?

The I10 codes no longer specify delivered or not. It might be in your best interest to take an OB-related I10 coding course sooner rather than later. What you're asking about how to code complications can't be answered in a few sentences. AAPC has specialty I10 online coding classes.
