Someone just advised me that payers do not want decimal for ICD-10?? I can't find this information anywhere?

The decimal just does not cross over to the payer. It is embedded into the electronic form but the payer does not "see" it. The decimal was put into the system to indicate that the individual codes are extension of the category. The category description is a part of each codes description along with any category rules such as excludes notes. Your system should take care of this for you.

If you look in field 21, the decimal is already there. No need to worry.
