I need some clarification on femoral neck fractures for ICD-10. When I ask my doctors to be more specific for femoral neck fractures they tell me that it's an intracapsular fracture S72.01. The problem I have is ICD-10 is listed as an unspecified code, which we are not to use. Would I code it as other S72.09? or use the unspecified code?
