I am looking for the ICD-9 code for rupture of bicep tendon (not long head).

I would normally use 727.62 (even though it states long head), I also use 727.69 when there is nothing more specific.

I use 841.8 if distal and if in shoulder but not the long head, I use 840.8. (of course these are for the acute ruptures)
