Hi,

I would appreciate some help coding a diagnosis for a pap smear result. This is what I have been given as a final diagnosis on the cytopath report:

endocervical curettings: fragments of ectocervix (no endocervix represented) with focal reactive changes, there is no evidence of dysplasia.

Would the focal reactive changes cause the dx to be 795.00 or would it simply be V76.2?

V76.2 but it looks as thought the pap will need to be repeated as there was no endocervix in the specimen if that is the case you would not be able to bill for one of them.
