Any examples of Dx codes ever needing an LT/Rt modifier? Is that even allowed?

Thanks,

Chaim

Are you a Certified Coder? I am confused by your question are you asking about the basic general modifier RT/LT? It is a procedure modifier not a dx modifier and is required on all claims that are coded with procedure codes that are unilateral or need to be distinguished as separate from the opposite side and also may require a numerical moodier.

The CPT code book has sections explaining modifiers and there are many reference books and articles available. You should take advantage of getting to know all you can about modifiers when used correctly can make a huge difference in your claim processing.

Good luck.

No, I'm studying for the exam.

I was pretty sure it was only for cpt codes, I just wanted to make 100% sure.

Thanks for the help.
