I'm new to the coding world of oncology and was hoping someone could help me. I code for a surgeon who does breast reconstruction after the patient has had a mastectomy. When the patient comes in for tissue expansions what ICD code do you use? I have been using V45.71 with cancer code (if applicable). Would this be correct?

Yes, 174.9 (etc) and V45.71 are correct for the icd 9's.
