please suggest ICD for soft tissue mass left leg. doubt between D21.21 vs M79.89

You d not code a mass as a neoplasm. Look in he alph under key word mass then localized then lower limb, you will be directed to R22.4-

The ICD R22.4- u suggested is localized (skin) but the mass is in soft tissue?

It includes subcutaneous as well. Unless you have information that its muscle or bone, or pathology showing a neoplasm this is as exact as you can get

I agree with your explanation, but my colleagues are leaning towards M79.89 as ICD10 data is also suggesting as soft tissue mass should be coded as soft tissue disorder and 3M coding software is also leading to same. please suggest.

I would not use M79.89. A mass in the soft tissue is not a soft tissue disorder. Soft Tissue is the location of the mass. You would want to code for the mass.
