What ICD10 would you assign the following:
Ileum, colon and appendix, Ileocecectomy
Ileum and cecum with extensive and multifocal fibrinopurulent serositis with abscess

Any help appreciated!
 
Hello and Good Afternoon annettebec,
Reviewing the Index and Tabular of the AAPC ICD-10-CM Expert for 2024 I would have selected K65.8 with K63.0 as my diagnosis assignment.
The reason I state that is because if you review the index for "fibrinopurulent" it states to - see condition.
Serositis of peritoneal drives K65.8 per Index and validated in Tabular
Abscess of intestine receives K63.0
I carefully reviewed the Excludes 1 edits and both of these diagnoses are in the clear.
