I'm having trouble finding an icd-9 code for an external iliac perforation. Any suggestions?

You need more information. Is this due to an injury, or a procedure? You should try to clarify in the patients medical record.

The doc says it was "likely" iatrogenic as a heart cath and stent were done prior that day.

Try 998.2, of course the artery may have been the access site. If so, 998.2 does not apply. Perhaps the reason this is being evaluated is for a hematoma at the access site? If so, look at 998.12
